From Lancome, With Love.

If you didn’t know my love for Lancome before, you certainly do now. I was very kindly sent the new From Lancome, With Love Spring Collection 2016 pieces (with a few little extras thrown in) and I was so excited by everything in my little bundle, I knew that I had to do something a little bit special for my review.

As with every blogger, my content is everything to me, especially the photography – but you guys already knew that. So for this post I decided to do something a little bit more fun and bring on board another photographer. My lovely friend Adam Robertson shot everything you see in this blog post. He is ruddy good isn’t he? If you follow me on Snapchat (zoenewlove) you will have already seen the behind the scenes from the day of the photoshoot, but nevermind if you missed that, as here are all the final edits for you to see.

I hope you enjoy this collection as much as I do, read on for more details.

I imagine you are thinking right now: Why balloons?

Well, the campaign for this collection is inspired by Paris, a dreamy make-up fantasy designed to be cute and playful, with balloons floating across a city backdrop. I am such a big kid at heart I thought why not get myself a load of fun balloons to play with on the shoot. You have no idea how long it took Adam to blow up that 35″ special giant balloon. It was highly amusing, trust me.

Now, on to the important stuff, the reason you are reading this post today. The make-up.

The nail varnishes are my favourite. That is a statement I never thought I would say, mainly because I never bother with my nails, like ever. I thought at first the shades were a little too girly, a little too pastel for me. Now? I absolutely love them. On my fingers I decided to wear the shade Corail de Ville. The finish was impeccable and I have to be honest, I bought some cheap nail varnish remover pads and this stuff would not budge, nevermind chip. It really does have longevity and for someone who is horrendous at any form of manicure, I rather impressed myself at how professional the application appeared.

Considering pink is definitely not a colour you will find in my wardrobe, and a colour I would never wear on my nails, I enjoyed braving something new. Yes, this jumper is still the only item that is not black, grey or white to my name, but like the pastel nail varnishes, I have grown to love it. An ASOS number by the way.

Next up, the Rouge In Love Lipsticks. Three new shades have been added to the original line. In my photographs you can see two of the new collection colours: Rose Haussman and Corail de Ville. The formula and texture is really hydrating, and feels really lightweight too, like comfortable you know?

The lipglosses are super pretty, the packaging is really nice. Again the formula is really hydrating and not at all sticky. The Hypnose Doll Eyes Palette is gorgeous, enabling you to create either a sultry smokey eye or something more romantic. I really, really enjoyed playing with this palette. You cannot really tell from these photos just how pretty it is on. The eye shadows are so easy to blend and can be worn both during the day and taken through to the evening too.

What makes this collection stand out is the Parisian illustrations adorning some of the products. This cute blusher is the prettiest of pinks, giving a nice healthy glow to the skin. The Miracle Cushion foundation is also available in the limited edition illustrated packaging – I may have forgotten to photograph this.

As you can tell from the smile on my face on this shoot, I loved playing with this collection, just as much as I loved throwing the balloons around the studio. I am so ready for the warmer seasons and I know Lancome will be the perfect make-up to switch into my new colour wardrobe.

What do you think to the collection?
