Foundation Rotation

beauty blogger zoe newlove discusses her favourite foundations for pale skin including giorgio armani, kiko cosmetics, make up
I have to be honest, I have way too much foundation for one girl. My collection is growing out of control. To ensure I use all of my foundation up, I have pulled aside a selection of my favourites and put them on rotation. The majority of the foundations I use are water based, liquid foundations with natural to buildable coverage.
I am not a huge fan of drugstore foundations, simply because I find they do not last as well on the skin, in comparison to that of more luxury foundations. There is one in the mix here, but the rest you will find on beauty counters in stores like Selfridges, Debenhams and Harvey Nichols.
In no particular order…

bareMinerals BARESKIN Pure Brightening Serum Foundation

When I want that fresh faced, my skin but better finish, this is the foundation I pick up. It gives a very natural coverage with 1-2 drops, and feels super light and airy on the skin. I wear the shade bare Porcelain
This is my posh foundation and one I would usually save for special occasions, but giving as my skin has been so temperamental recently, I actually have been wearing this every day even to the office – simply because it makes my skin look THAT good, it makes me feel better. Oil free, buildable coverage and lasts all, day and night long. I wear the shade Ivory.

Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer

Definitely the one I reach for when I want full coverage. I dab this all over my face and then tend to use a beauty blender to achieve that “flawless finish”. Surprisingly lightweight considering the amazing coverage it gives. I do get a little shiny towards the end of the day with this, but nothing a little powder does not fix. I wear the shade Alabaster.
I can wear this foundation no matter what kind of day my skin is having, as it always look great. It gives a natural coverage, but can be very easily be built up to a medium coverage. It blends into the skin without feeling tacky and takes down redness instantly. Again, allows my skin to breathe and is very long lasting. I wear the shade Y225.

Paul and Joe Silky Smooth UV Foundation

A strange thing to say, but this foundation smells pretty epic. And the packaging, is just perfect. Paul and Joe have the most fantastic shade range for pale peeps like me, and this foundation is just beautiful. I wear the shade 101 Cameo.

No7 Stay Perfect Foundation

No7 is the ONLY drugstore brand which offers a foundation that I actually trust. I have used foundations from other brands and just not be as happy. Stay Perfect is really long lasting, feels soft to the touch and covers up any blemishes and redness without being a total full coverage foundation. I wear the shade Calico.

Kiko Liquid Skin Second Skin Foundation

I think it is safe to say that by now you guys know how much I love this foundation, seeing as I have not stopped talking about it recently. Check out my full review here. I wear the shade Neutral 40 (when I am super tan – I still need to get a pale shade).

What foundations are you guys currently using up? And you know, for when I do run out, which one must I try next?

  • Great post, I have a frankly embarrassing collection of foundations myself. I find myself reaching for my “drugstore” foundations over my more high-end ones lately. I really love the Maybelline Better Skin foundation and the L’Oreal Infallible Matte foundation. I am going to check out your review of the Kiko foundation to see whether that might be something to look out for. I am just addicted to buying foundation because I feel like that it is one product that will never be perfected.

  • I have the No7 foundation and I’m not really a fan. I swear by the L’oreal eau de teint if I want a light coverage, and I switch between the Clinique Stay Matte foundation and the Estee Lauder double wear light! ๐Ÿ™‚ xx

  • I feel you, I wonder if I will ever finish a foundation someday! Loving the MUFE one, it’s pretty much perfect ๐Ÿ˜‰ xx

I really don’t have many foundations at all as I tend to use two or three at the most at one time and I’ve been a little too poor to indulge in trying out all the high-end ones I want to try! My current favourite is the YSL Fusion Ink foundation, I’m currently on my second bottle x

I’m on my second bottle of NARS Sheer Glow and I’m also a big fan of Vichy Dermablend. I have my eye on the Charlotte Tilbury Magic foundation next! xx
