The majority of my skincare routine pretty much consists of all natural and organic brands. Nevertheless, on the odd occasion I like to dabble with the more scientific “techy” skincare brands, Rodial being one of them. The Super Acids Collection is not entirely new to me, having tested out the Rodial Xtreme After Party Scrub and the Rodial Xtreme Hangover Mask late last year, the review of which you can read here.

Today from the collection I am going to be discussing the Rodial Super Acids X-treme Exfoliating Glycolic Cleanser and the Rodial Super Acids Daily Azelaic Acid Serum. Not being a fan of products containing those nasty plastic microbeads for exfolation, I look to acids to do the work for me. For me, acids are a really important part of a skincare routine as they keep my skin looking healthy and glowing, as well as encouraging the skin renewal process, in turn keeping my skin looking younger for longer.
The cleanser is surprisingly gentle on the skin, and I reach for this when my skin is looking stressed and very dull. At the moment, this is more often than not as I am so busy right now. Containing Glycolic Acid my skin cell turnover is stimulated, resurfacing any areas that may be weakening to fine lines and wrinkles. It also contains some funky enzymes which helps to reduce skin pigmentation. As I am getting older, I find that more melanin is coming up to the surface of my skin on my face, so this cleanser will be a vital part of my skincare routine going forward. My favourite element of this cleanser, which some may not actually like at all, the fruity acids give it a fragrance that reminds me very much of Um Bongo fruit juice – you know the little cartons of juice covered in animals? A really fruity punch.
The serum is exceedingly light and very refreshing, I tend to use this more so in the evenings as part of my bedtime routine.  Now this is a very expensive serum folks, falling in at £78 however it is like a 3 in one serum. It hydrates, gently exfoliates and refines the pores, oh and it brightens the skin too. So make that a four in one. It is really important for me to use a hydrating serum as my skin is dehydrated all the time, so to find a serum that also works on other areas too is great. Would I buy this again when it runs out, even at the cost? Yes, I probably would because I really like it that much.
On a side note, I recently finished off a bottle of Rodial Dragon Blood Cleansing Water, and that was freakin’ awesome. Rodial definitely have dug their roots into me, for someone who is very “nature” focused, it will be very hard for me to pull away from their offerings.
Have you tried much from this brand?
