Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic | My Thoughts

I used to believe toners were pointless, a step in your skin care routine that was thrown in for fun by the beauty industry to get more money out of you. Just splash some cold water on your face, that’ll do donkey, that’ll do, is what I used to say. THIS SOLID STATUTORY opinion, pretty much disappeared within seconds after reading a blog post written by Hirons.
Caroline Hirons. You’ve been living under a rock if you do not know who
this magnificent lady is. I haven’t even met the woman and in my eyes
she is a legend. Skincare expert extraordinare! My idol.
I urge you, in fact, I insist, you read this one blog post: Caroline Hirons Routines Cheat Sheet
Once you have read it, come back to this post, (you gotta come back!) and you will totally understand why I radically changed my mind. Now, I swear by, not one, but in fact two toners. One to exfoliate and one to hydrate…
This lovely little number, Instant Boost Skin Tonic by Liz Earle, is what I use to hydrate my skin. Having fallen in love with the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanse and Polish (review here), it made perfect sense to try out their toner.

Unlike other toners I have tried, which are designed with a pump to spray a mist over your face, this bottle has a lid designed to twist open to reveal a hole in the cap. To close you simply twist it back in the opposite direction. There is probably a proper name for this type of lid but right now, I am sticking with my explanation.

The proper name for this is actually on the packaging: Twist up cap. Honestly, I do wonder where my brain goes at times.

It’s really handy for just pouring a little of the tonic onto a cotton pad.

So packaging out of the way, this heavenly, floral-scented toner refreshes, soothes and brightens your skin. The naturally active ingredients include organic aloe vera which revitalises and softens your skin, whereas the calendula, chamomile, cucumber and natural source vitamin E soothes and refreshes the skin. Geranium, lavendar and sweet orange essential oils restore and revive, giving you a nice uplifting feeling.

I sweep this tonic over my face morning and evening after using my exfoliating toner, or if I skip that step, just straight after cleansing. I just love using this, as it smells so yummy and fresh. It makes my skin feel beautiful. I only have the smallest amount left so I am hanging onto it before it runs out. Considering I have had it for around 10 weeks, so just under 3 months, £13.25 for 200ml, is a ruddy bargain in my eyes.
Have a fabulous weekend guys!
