7 Day Home Trial with Glasses Direct | A Review

I was recently given the opportunity to test the Glasses Direct 7 Day Home Trial. Why did I jump at the chance? I wear glasses (or I am supposed to) whilst sitting in front of a computer or for driving. A wee while ago (years) I bought a nice, sturdy pair. These were just fine and dandy until I scratched them a few months ago, not just a little mark folks, like a full on massacre. So, on hearing about this home trial, I ran straight down to my nearest opticians to get my eyes retested. Thank goodness I did, as it turns out I needed a stronger prescription, I am blinder than I thought folks. 

So onto the trial. You get started by heading to the Glasses Direct website, and then have a browse through all of the frames they have to offer. I found myself browsing for a good hour or so, as they have so many fabulous brands such as Ray Ban, Karl Lagerfield, London Retro and John Lennon. I take forever picking a pair of sunglasses, nevermind picking out glasses that I will need to wear every single day whilst at work. 

It can be quite overwhelming choosing your four pairs, but the website makes it really easy by asking you to select the Home Trial button and then before checking out, you can look at all your frames together, spin them around, zoom in on the details… it is a really well built, functional site. Once you are happy with your frames of choice, simply pop in a few details and happily await your delivery. 

In the 7 Days, you get to try them on for yourself, whilst asking friends and family for their opinion, further helping you make the final decision. You then send the box back, within this time frame, stating which pair you would like. Or if you did not like any, not to worry, as this is all free of charge regardless of your choice. 

First up, this quirky frame from London Retro… quite snazzy aren’t they. Snaaaaazzzy. I like that word. I showed my sister a photo of me wearing these, and she said I am not cool enough to wear them. Cheers for that Amy, love you too. 

I was always going to choose Ray Ban, being totally obsessed with this brand. I picked these as I thought they were stylish but unusual at the same time. They definitely make me look intelligent, so that is always a bonus. I love the gold rim detailing, so pretty.

Next up, I chose a “safe” pair. The shape of the frame, and the fact these are black, I cannot really go wrong wearing these with any outfit. Ray Ban really do know how to make glasses. I think these are my favourite. 

I had to pick a fun pair! These are from the John Lennon range and make me look like Harry Potter. My entire family were against these, but I LOVE them. I think if I wore them to the office I may get slightly bullied…
