La Roche-Posay Anthelios Facial Sun Protection

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Facial Sun Protection
How many of you apply the suncream designed for your body to your face? Hands up? I have done it, we all have.
La Roche-Posay asked this same question, and discovered a huge 70% of us in fact are guilty of this. Using this new found knowledge and seeing a hole in the market, Anthelios was born. Anthelios, is a new sun protection range, made up of tailored textures to suit different skin types. Ultra Light, for combination skin, Mattifying for oil, blemish prone skin and Comfort for normal to dry.
La
Roche-Posay have gone that one step further than JUST UVA-UVB
protection, by developing simultaneously innovative, pleasurable to use
products with high tolerance sunscreen. The formulas are designed for
even the most sensitive skins too.
Long lasting, optimal protection, ultra water resistant (even after 4 swims) formula combined with Thermal Spring Water, offering natural soothing and anti-oxidant properties. This range sounds pretty fabulous doesn’t it?

Last week, I flew out to Mallorca, and tried and tested the Anthelios XL Ultra Light Fluid SPF 50+*(£16.50). Being fair skinned, I am used to slathering on heavy, white creams in the hope I don’t burn – usually, I always burn, so it was refreshing and surprising to use a product that is so lightweight I could have mistaken it for any one of my serums. It glides onto the skin, almost invisible, leaving a non-oily residue. I have dehydrated skin, so I can sometimes be dry, or incredibly oily depending on what mood takes over. This product is designed for normal-combination so it worked well for me. Usually my pores are screaming after applying a suncream, I can literally feel them getting blocked. With this, I had no problems, I could hardly feel it on my skin at all. The biggest bonus for me, I didn’t break out either! Happy days.
The packaging is perfect and great for frequent flyers like me, 50ml, so you can slot it into your hand luggage and you are good to go. This gets a HUGE THUMBS UP.

Now, I haven’t yet worn the Athelios Compact Cream SPF 50+* (£19.50) simply because the shade I have, is Sand Beige. Unfortunately, I did not spend that much time in the sun whilst in Mallorca, I certainly need more than 3 days to go from Albino to Greek Goddess. However, on swatching it on my skin, it certainly feels lovely and lightweight and quite a reasonable coverage considering it is only sun protection. It reminds me very much of my Dermalogica Sheer Tint which is also as it happens a few shades too dark for me. I think this is a great idea for those who do not feel very comfortable with wearing no make-up completely on holiday, it comes with a little sponge applicator, so is handy to just pop into your make-up bag. Ironically, I do wish there was a lighter shade available, considering fairer skins tend to burn more easily you would think this is something they would have added to the range. At the moment there is this shade and one darker, called Beige Gold.
Both available now from Boots and online at Feel Unique.
I definitely would not be without the Ultra Light Fluid now, I will be sure to pack it wherever I travel. Now, I want to go on holiday again, Fiji anyone?
