Liz Earle | Gentle Face Exfoliator | A Review

Hello.
A few weeks ago I was very kindly sent this Liz Earle Gentle Face Exfoliator* to review. Over the last few months I have been raving about the Hot Cloth Cleanse and Polish from the very same brand, so I was over the moon to have the chance to try something else from the range.

I am slowly trying to convert to an organic lifestyle, so right now, organic and natural skincare are at the top of my must-have list. Liz Earle have a great ingredients policy, all of what is used in their products are responsibly sourced, are free of animal ingredients and GM ingredients are never used.
Having just moved back to the UK, I thought I would get out and about with my camera to explore and take some snaps. Only a two minute walk from where I now live is a beach, I feel so very lucky to have such a serene place on my doorstep. It was super cloudy but I still had lots of fun nevertheless.

The day before I was planning on trying this exfoliator out, I had been to see my friend Lauren. Lauren runs The Skin Sanctuary in Cheshire, and is THE BEST PERSON to go to for HD Brows. Period. On this occasion, I also decided to treat myself to a Pumpkin Peel. I won’t go into the ins and outs of this amazing facial right now, as I am saving this information for another separate post.
After the peel Lauren explained to me I could not use my usual evening cleanser or night cream, both of which contain Glycolic, and that I could possibly experience some dryness and flaking around my nose and chin. Therefore, I would need a gentle exfoliator to help rid these dry patches… you can see where this is going can’t you?
Well, talk about great timing. This Gentle Face Exfoliator was exactly what the doctor, well, Lauren, had ordered.
Designed for congested/flaky skin this product is perfect for me, my skin is usually congested around the t-zone, and having had this peel, it was flaky too. To use, you just apply one pump to a damp face and use your finger tips to massage in circular motions. I concentrated mainly on the areas around my nose and chin. Having also had a terrible cold all week, the smell of this product was a life saver. It contains Eucalyptus Essential Oil, which is a great decongestant, but this also helped my bunged up nose as silly as that sounds. It isn’t overpowering at all, it’s really refreshing and has an invigorating effect on the skin. The Jojoba beads are what buff the dead skin cells away, unblocking pores and refining the skin to give you a clearer, brighter complexion. Whereas the Cocoa Butter and Sweet Almond oil help moisturise and soften the skin.
After just two days of use, morning and evening, I no longer had any dry or flaky patches on my face. My skin right now is the clearest it has been in a very long time.
I would definitely repurchase this product in the future, retailing at £14, it is great value for money and the results are spot on.
I only wish I had discovered Liz Earle years ago as I truly believe this brand has been one of the heroes behind helping my skin. I recently bought the 200ml Hot Cloth Cleanse and Polish, instead of the 100ml size and also the Skin Tonic which I hadn’t used before, so will pop a post up with those soon too.
Natural and organic is the future guys, see you soon!
