I’m Perfection | Speckled Eggs and Pink Lips | Illamasqua

I think this possibly could be my most favourite collection from Illamasqua. Simply because the name is just awesome. I’m Perfection, a play on the word Imperfection. Celebrating what others would usually tell us to hide.
“Life isn’t about finding yourself, it is about celebrating who you really are”
I LOVE THIS QUOTE. Personally, I have had moments in my life where my confidence has been at zero, I have hidden away and wondered whether I know who I am? I have compared myself to others and asked myself am I even good enough? Reading this quote really puts a smile on my face, as it really hits home with me and I imagine so many others can relate to this the way I do. Isn’t it about time more brands encouraged us just to BE. To be proud of who we are, not who we want to be.
So thankyou Illamasqua.
The ever so lovely Rose, very kindly, sent me some little goodies from this collection and I was so excited to try them out.

Illamasqua Immodest Lipstick

Being blonde, I worry about looking like a “barbie doll” when wearing a pink lipstick. When Immodest fell into my hands, this vivid pink with a matte finish, I decided to embrace my fears and even curled my hair – true girly style! As always with Illamasqua lipsticks the pigment is intense and the finish flawless! My lips are terribly dry, all year round, but this lipstick did not dry them out any more so.
Illamasqua Immodest Swatch

I am really excited to wear this lipstick throughout Spring and Summer, it is about time I was more daring with my choice of lip colour, Immodest now has a nice home in my personal make-up bag along with my usual reds and corals.

Illamasqua Nail Varnish

When these nail varnishes first came available, my social networking feeds went haywire for them. Photographs of fabulous speckled nails were arriving at every angle. I was so jealous as I really wanted to try them out for myself.
I think I own 4 nail varnishes that I wear regularly, when I say regularly
I mean once or twice a month. The rest end up in my professional kit
gathering dust. I’m just not a nail varnish person. I am not that beauty blogger that tries out the latest nail art techniques.
I secretly wish I was. I just do not have the patience for nail varnish to dry, and without fail I smudge or chip my neatly painted claws within five minutes of finishing them.
These though, had “YOU GOTTA HAVE ME” written all over them.

Speckle
HOW PRETTY IS THIS? This gorgeous speckled lilac shade made my fingers look fabulous. It needed two coats, and for once I patiently waited for them to dry. The finish was worth it. There is something special about these nail varnishes that make me want to wear them, and I actually was excited to paint my nails. This speaks volumes as usually I see this as a massive chore.

Freckle
This one being more of a neutral shade, is more up my street. I tend to wear brights on my toe nails and stick to dark and neutral shades on my nails. My sister had been over to visit me, and she is an absolute nail varnish FREAK. She could not wait to try these out too, so you can see her here modelling Freckle… her cuticles are in a much better state than mine.
The funny thing was, when we both finished layering up the lacquer, we realised that we had tried the wrong colours. Amy much preferred the lilac varnish whereas I much preferred the neutral shade. Typical? The one time I actually bother to paint my nails properly, and I end up getting nail varnish envy. I let her keep Speckle….I’m such a good big sister.
I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!
See you soon!
