one small Beauty Haul for man, one giant leap for mankind…

Hello Lovelies,
Last Tuesday I set off on a road trip back to Mallorca, me and three guys in a car for over 24 hours! It was a great experience but my god are boys smelly – my boyfriend being the worst! We travelled through Paris and made our way across France to Barcelona where we got an 8 hour ferry back to Palma. The weather here is finally getting warmer and I am getting so excited for Summer!
So today’s post is yet another beauty haul, if you follow me on Instagram then you would have seen me post up this photograph last week. If you are not following me then I think you jolly well should:
zoenewlovemua
I needed to pick up a few bits of haircare for my kit and ended up spending £50 in my local Savers. So much for saving my pennies!

I lost my receipt so cannot tell you how much everything was but Savers is usually a little cheaper than Boots or Superdrug.

Batiste Original Dry Shampoo
The only brand of dry shampoo I will use, it is cheap and cheerful and does the job. I bought two bottles to keep in my hair kit, but no doubt at some point I will steal a bottle for my own personal use.

Simple Derma Intensive Relief Cream
I was looking through the skincare in my kit and noticed I no longer had anything suitable for sensitive or very dry skin. I spotted this product from Simple and it is suitable for skin prone to eczema and dermatitis. This cream feels really hydrating and isn’t greasy. I haven’t yet used it on any clients so cannot fully review this product.

Simple Kind to Skin Replenishing Rich Moisturiser
Another moisturiser to add to the kit bag, this one is really hydrating, replenishes and nourishes the skin for up to 12 hours. I love Simple products as they do what they say on the tin and I have had no problems even with the most sensitive skin.

Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula 400ml
I bought two of these large “pump” bottles of cocoa butter, one for myself and one for my kit. I used to use this all the time and then kind of just forgot about it. So when I saw these in Savers with a big pump I had to have them. I always see a difference in the tone of my skin and it definitely does help the appearance of stretch marks. I will moisturise in an evening and in the morning when I step into the shower I can still feel the cocoa butter coating my skin. It is just awesome stuff 🙂 If you suffer from dry skin then give this product a try.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Glossing Mist
Before this haul, the hair products in my pro kit were running at an all time low. It was time to revamp my hair care bag and so one of the products I purchased was this glossing mist from John Frieda. Shiny hair (when done right) equals healthy hair. I love shine sprays and mists and this one is really lightweight and has a light, pleasant fragrance.

OXY Seaweed Power Deep Calm Balm
This brand is totally new to me, I had never seen it in stores before so was curious to try it. I really like the packaging, nothing too fancy, a simple white tube. The balm itself is not very balm like. It is very lightweight and absorbs really quickly into the skin. So perfect for oily/combination skin types prone to break out. It is designed to help break outs, I haven’t personally tried it as this was just for my kit, but when my usual moisturiser runs out I am quite tempted to try it. Looking at the ingredients I was impressed to see it contains a starch that soaks up excess oil, and it also contains lactic acid. Lactic acid is perfect for spot prone skin as it gently exfoliates dead cells that may block pores thus causing breakout. The seaweed controls the sebum production. Overall I really like using this product, I found it made a great base upon putting on make-up and helped minimise oil for a good few hours.
Schwarzkopf GOT2B Volumizing Style Powder
One of the main jobs I do as a make-up artist is working on the faces of glamour models. Glamour make-up goes hand in hand with big, BIIIIG hair. I find back combing can be quiet tedious and is not always the most effective when a lot of the girls have a trillion extensions in. So, I thought it was about time I tried a root boosting powder. I saw this one, and the model on the box looked like she had pretty HUGE hair to me – so I bought two bottles. I have since used this product and love it. Yes, it is annoyingly sticky when you rub your hands together, but this stickiness is what makes the roots go va va voom. I found a little of this product did the trick perfectly. It did not leave the hair greasy, although the texture afterward does feel a bit “ming” in the hair. I suggest if you use this product definitely wash your hair the next day, unless you’re into skanky feeling hair….
V05 Plump it Up Amplifying Blow Dry Lotion
When I was back in the UK, one of the first things I had done was my hair. The hairdresser asked me if I would like it big and bouncy – OF COURSE I DID. After she gave me a “curly blow” I was astounded at the size of my hair. I loved it. I immediately felt very glamourous and had an overwhelming urge to bounce around with my bouncy hair. Since then however, I have failed at getting it to look anywhere near the same. I walk away from the mirror and hairdryer in disgust, ashamed at my poor, poor attempt at creating the sheer volume my hairdresser gave me.

So this little fella, Amplifying Blow Dry lotion, shouted across to me in Savers and he said that he would help me out. Purchase and shower later, I spritzed this lotion over my hair. (Why it is called “lotion” defeats me, it is a spray. Simples). It has added heat defence in, which meant less product being chucked into my hair, always a bonus. I voted on the “throw your head upside down and BLAST” technique, and then gave it a good brush and a bit more loving before I was finished. Overall, I was impressed, I definitely had more volume at the roots and my hair looked really full. This is definitely a keeper.
Schwarzkopf GOT2B 2 Sexy Big Volume Push Up Hairspray
Now, I am not sure if this is the one everyone has been going on about with “collagen effect” inside, as it does not have that in the name like the ones advertised online. I don’t care to be honest, this hair spray smells amazing and gives the hair great volume and great hold. It easily brushes out as it is a lightweight formula and does not have that horrible tacky sensation some hairsprays have. I regret not buying more bottles now.
VO5 Smoothly Does it Tame and Shine Spray
Love this product, with added heat defence, spray all over dry hair and then with straightners or other heated styling appliance, style your hair. The hair stays super, super shiny and just looks really glossy and healthy. I was really impressed by this product, again wish I had bought more.
 VO5 Heat Protect Styling Spray
It is so important to use some form of heat defence when drying your hair or using heated applicances. I picked up this one from VO5, I haven’t tried it yet but I am sure it is just as good as the other products from this range I have tested.
Microfibre Turbie Towel
THESE THINGS ARE AMAZING AND I AM NOW BUILDING A SMALL COLLECTION OF THEM! I used capital letters just to express how excited this little invention makes me. Jump out the shower or bath, grab your turbie towel,  whip up your wet locks and wahlah! See you later neck breakingly heavy towel!

Model Co Lip and Lash Kit
I use Model Co tanning products and swear by them. I was quite surprised to see this brand in a Savers store, and I had never seen these lip glosses before either. In this set you get three lip products and a mascara. I have not yet used any of them but I am excited to. I really like the idea of having a retractable lipstick and lipgloss in one. The double ended lip product would be great to throw in your handbag for a night out. I shall let you know my thoughts on these after using them..

Rimmel Stay Matte Long lasting Pressed Powder
I finally got my hands on this powder!!! WOOOO!
So many of you fellow bloggers rave about this pressed powder, so I had to go and buy it didn’t I? I quite like it, shock. I wore it the other day for the first time and did the rest of my make-up pretty much the same. I mooched down the stairs and when my other half looked up from his desk he told me:
“Your make-up looks really nice today!” With a element of surprise to his tone.
So, there you go, the verdicts out, this pressed powder will forever be a staple in my make-up bag. If the boy loves it then so do I.

Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Varnish in
Princess Pink
I will never, ever personally use this nail polish. Pink nails is not my thing at all. I bought this to throw in my kit. I have used it on models and it’s application is really easy and smooth, dries quickly and the finish is a really pale pink – french manicure styleeee. I do love the Rimmel nail polish brushes they seem a lot thicker than most, which makes my life a lot easier.
I am still hopeless with nails.
I hope you enjoyed this haul guys!! Enjoy the last hours of your weekend! Monday will soo be upon us. Run and HIIIIDE!
See you soon,
