How I Style My Hair…

Hello hello hello,
I have been trying out some new hair products recently so I thought I would do a little post on them.
Firstly, an introduction to my hair. It is quite wild. If I leave it to dry naturally, it will either go frizzy and bushy, and resemble something of a lions mane, or it will go completely flat and boring. Both of which, are just absolutely awful looks. So, blow drying my hair is quite important.
My hair is super thick and there is lots of it, the weight of it means that by the end of the day it just looks lifeless and has no shape to it. However, these four products (photographed above) have really helped give it some shape and bounce.
These products have now become an essential part of my “hair routine” so, how do I use them and why are they so awesome?
I now regret choosing to have a “no mascara” day…
The start of my routine, may I present you with my towel dried hair… oh no, it is not fun brushing my hair. Thank the lord, Mary and the goat for inventing the TANGLE TEEZER
Before brushing it out, I spritz over the VO5 Amplifying Blow Dry Lotion. This has added “Heat Defence” so I am protecting my locks from the hair dryer. I then add two pumps of my trusty Kerastase hair oil ( I blogged about this here ). I run the oil through my hair concentrating on the ends of course. Mr Tangle Teezer then takes away the usual painful experience of brushing out my wig. The reason I brush my hair after applying the products is so that I have evenly covered my hair in the lotion and oil.
I line up my brushes… as you do….
Now this is the fun bit. I have only just started using this product, but I cannot be without it…
Meet L’Oreal Professional Volume Lift, a directional spray mousse for root volume. This stuff is the b*llocks. Most volumising products I have used feel quite sticky and you can tell they are in your hair after using them, but this stuff, is like AIR. You literally spray it into the roots, it comes out as above, not in big lumps like most mousse. I then rub it into my roots and instantly you can see the root lifting. I do this all over, well, as much as I can be bothered too, and it really is that simple.
I then like to adopt the “throw your head forward and BLAST BLAST BLAST” routine. Once it is nearly dry. I then like to separate the top part of my hair – there is so much of it I find it easier to dry in sections.
I then alternate between my big round brush and my medium round brush to smooth out my hair with the hair dryer nozzley bit. I wish I could describe this technique, but I am no hairdresser and would probably embarrass myself. You all know how to dry hair….

I finish off with TREsemme Volume and Lift Medium Hold hairspray, this really does lift my hair and gives it a nice natural hold – you can still run your fingers through your hair without it feeling as stiff as a rock. It does feel a bit sticky if you spray too close to your hair, but it soon settles. It brushes out really easily too.
This is the finished look, it takes me about 15-20 minutes in total to dry my hair and I swear the products I use are behind this. They really take all the hardwork away. I used to back comb my hair, pretty much all the time, but now I have these products I don’t bother – which is much better for my hair.
What products do you like to use guys?
See you soon,
