Laura Mercier Cosmetics

Hello Lovelies,
I have been going through my kit the last couple of days working out what bits I need to stock up on whilst I am back in the UK, and I found lots of bits from Laura Mercier that I haven’t used in a while, and I remembered just how much I love this brand.
Laura Mercier, if you haven’t heard of her, is a fabulous make-up artist with her own line of beauty products. She worked at all the fashion shows; New York, Milan, Paris and London, at the time when the “Supers” were huge: Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell… you name the supermodel and she was there at the height of their career. Her career from the very beginning up right through to present day has just been inspirational. She is just an incredible woman and one of my idols.
Laura Mercier Cosmetics
Laura Mercier’s ethos is all about achieving the “flawless face“. Make-up that makes you look like you have no imperfections without looking like a mask. She was behind the creation of the perfect base with best selling products such as her primers and secret camoflauge concealers.
“Beauty is not generic. Quite often, the thing that makes you memorable is the thing that makes you different.” Laura Mercier
If you have not tried any of her make-up before then this post will be really useful for you, as here I will show you some of the products I have in my kit.
Enjoy guys!
Laura Mercier Foundation Primer

Laura Mercier Foundation Primers: Oil Free, Radiance and Mineral

Every year this product seems to win the Instyle award for best face primer and I’m not surprised as it poops over every primer I have ever tried. My favourite out of all of them is the Radiance Primer, and I have very little left, I need to stock up on this bad boy. I just love the lightweight, water based gel like formula, it glides on effortlessly smoothing out the skin and creating the perfect base for make-up. I swear by primers, they make all the difference. I would not wear one on a day to day basis, but for nights out and special occasions I definitely would, as I know my make-up will stay on all night long. You can apply primers after moisturiser or on to clean skin before concealer and foundation. Do not worry about this primer clogging your pores either, as they are jam packed with skincare, vitamins A, C & E to work with your skin not against it.
For the usual size, 50ml is £28 – expensive but so worth it. Travel sizes and bonus sizes are also available.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser & Tinted Moisturiser Illuminating

These tinted moisturisers are just a lovely product to have, not just as a professional make-up artist but in my own personal bag. The formula is super creamy and lightweight and again effortlessly glides onto the skin. Now for a TM, these give remarkable coverage. I love seeing skin come through, I really cannot stand “masks” and for that reason I would always personally wear a Tinted Moisturiser over a foundation. My skin seems to have settled down, and even though I have oily tendencies I actually LOVE wearing the Illuminating Tinted Moisturiser in Bare Radiance, it makes my skin look so  healthy and ALIVE. I always forget that a little genuinely does go a long way and end up wasting loads, so if you try these guys a little squeeze is all you need. So many colours available so I am certain you will find a shade to match your skin perfectly.
Perfect for Spring and Summer, with the UVA/UVB SPF 20 protection.
£33, a hefty price tag, but this is a luxury brand and it’s always nice to treat yourself no?
Laura Mercier Loose Shimmer Powder
Laura Mercier Loose Shimmer Powder in Stardust
This stuff is incredible. It is like gold dust, and, I have had it for AGES. It reminds me of Mary Poppins handbag, it has a never ending bottom. This is one of my favourite highlighters, the super fine powder can be dusted lightly over all the high points of your face: along the bridge of your nose, brow bones and cheek bones. It looks gorgeous swept over tanned bare skin, it gives a really healthy, sexy glow. A must for highlighter lovers!

Laura Mercier Universal Invisible Translucent Setting Powder
If you have followed my blog for a while, you will now I have an obsession with this product. I have tried so many setting powders, but I always come back to this one. I have NONE left and it kills me to use a different brand, so this is definitely on my replenishment list. It has been finely milled three times more than any other powder that Laura Mercier does, so it has to be applied properly with a fan brush (there is one that you can buy specifically with this product). The invisible formula works with every skin tone, from light to deep. The light reflecting, spherical-silica powder helps create a soft focus finish ( we all love a bit of soft focus) diminishing the look of fine lines and blemishes.
I must admit, I go through so much of this for shoots and my own personal use, that I could not tel you how long it lasts for but I highly recommend this even at the price tag of £31.00

Laura Mercier Mineral Powder SPF15
I hardly ever use mineral powders to be honest, I make too much of a mess. I have a few of these in my kit, and had a play around with them whilst preparing this post – my god I forgot how good they are. The coverage is just simply flawless, without looking like you have just had your face dragged across a make-up counter. You softly buff this finely milled powder into your skin and as well as giving you awesome coverage, you are protecting your skin from free radicals and harmful sun rays. Your skin tone will be evened out and appear to be smoother. If you don’t like cream/liquid foundations and you want to try something new, I would recommend this.

Laura Mercier Secret Camoflauge

 Laura Mercier Secret Camoflauge
This is the holy grail of concealers. Every blogger, make-up artist and their dog raves about this. I swear by this concealer. It is the correct texture to conceal every blemish under the sun, and the two shades are great as you can mix your own perfect blend. I find it best applied with a concealer brush and patted on, rather than using finger, and always always apply after foundation and set with a powder. This covers dark circles, spots and corrects pigmentation. I do not need to say anymore, this stuff is da bomb.
£26.00

Laura Mercier Mineral Pressed Powder

Laura Mercier Mineral Pressed Powder SPF15

One of the products from my collection that I have not used in a while, but another gem. This can be used as a buildable foundation, but I prefer to use it as pigmented powder, just to add that little bit of extra coverage to the places that need it. The great thing about this compact is that it is oil free and water resistant, so you could always carry this in your holiday make-up bag for days where you want a little more coverage. It has all the skincare extras that the rest of Laura Mercier make-up has, so no complaints really.

Laura Mercier Secret Concealer
I sometimes find the Secret Camoflauge to heavy/drying under some clients eye areas, so this formula, Secret Concealer is a perfect replacement. It is much creamier so glides on much easier. The difference these concealers make to dark shadows is incredible.

Laura Mercier Baked Eyeshadow
Laura Mercier Baked Eyeshadow

 Laura Mercier Baked Eyeshadows
Definitely my favourite eyeshadows from Laura Mercier, I love these baked formulas. You can use them wet or dry depending on the finish you want, and they are really lightweight so don’t look too cakey on the eye. Easily blended but yet smudge resistant. Black Karat is such a gorgeous colour, I personally love wearing it and always steal it from my kit.

Laura Mercier Eye Shadow Quad

Laura Mercier Violet Eye Colour Quad

I have had this in my kit for too long. I just cannot part with it. It sits in my Bridal kit as I think the colours are just perfect for weddings. You can create a really natural look or add more definition, all four colours are really great to use. The eyeshadow formula blends really easily without much fall out. I cannot remember how much this cost, as it was limited edition but the eyeshadows from Laura Mercier are just lovely. You can put together your own palettes now too.

Laura Mercier Lip Stain
Laura Mercier Lip Stain

 Laura Mercier Lip Stain
I don’t think this colour is available anymore, but the Laura Mercier lipstains are lovely. This one is great for creating a peachy nude lip. It has quite a matte finish, but is not drying. I always add a touch of gloss over the top with this colour. The staying power is great and this little fella will last you a really long time. Great to throw in your hand bag when you are on the go and you don’t want the fuss of a lipstick or stickiness of a gloss.

 Laura Mercier Lip Shine
 Laura Mercier Lip Shine

 Laura Mercier Lip Shine
I bought this last summer I think, it was part of one of the limited edition Spring/Summer collections. I always wear peachy/orange colours in Summer. I have no idea how this ended up in my pro kit as I definitely bought this for my own personal use. The texture is great, really lightweight and not sticky at all. I hope they bring out more of these soon. I wish I had bought more colours as I really do love this little product.
 Laura Mercier Lip Pencils
These are definitely my Go To Lip pencils. A fabulous texture, creamy but one that lasts. I seriously need to get more of these, I go through these like there is no tomorrow. Naked, Clover, and Baby Lips have always been my favourite pinks/nude shades, I just think they make your lips look amazing. The anti-feathering formula prevents deeper lip colours from bleeding. There are 12 shades available and I would buy them all if I could. A girl can dream.
£16.50

 Laura Mercier Stickgloss/Sheer Lip Colours
In all honesty, all the lip products from Laura Mercier are bang on, but these are just great. I don’t really like using glosses, so these are great for creating glossy lips without the stickiness, but with all the staying power of a matte lipstick. As they are part lip balm, part lipstick, they are also really hydrating. 14 colours available, I want them all.
£16.50

Laura Mercier Creme Lip Colour
Roman Moon, the shade in the picture above, is by far my favourite lip colour from the Creme Lip colour range. It is just so pretty and perfect for Spring. I really cannot wait for Spring and Summer this year, I am so ready for a bit of sunshine and being out here in Mallorca I am fortunate enough to start my sunbathing in March. Digressing as usual, but these creme lip colours are lovely and are really long lasting. They have antioxidants in the formula so they are also antiaging which is always a bonus.

I have bronzers, mosaics and a few blushers lying around somewhere but then this post would truly go on forever. I hope this has inspired you to maybe try out some of the Laura Mercier range. She also has a great skincare and body line. I love the Body Souffle and Honey Bath products.
