Illamasqua Colouring Pencils, Atomic & Blushing Up My Thoughts
Eye Crayon Vow
Lip Crayon Woo
Lip Crayon Indecent
Lip Crayon Severity
Y’all should know by now I have a ridiculous obsession with Illamasqua. You probably guessed from the title of this post that this is yet another Illamasqua haul. I only bought essentials this time, I promise.
With the launch of their New Colouring Pencils, eye and lip crayons, I could not resist getting my hands on some. I have always referred to my make-up pencils as “colouring pencils” so I absolutely love the new name of these products.
Don’t worry, Illamasqua have only repackaged and renamed the original pencils, so all of the old colours are still available, along with a few new colours. At the end of each pencil is a band with the coordinating colour so you can easily see which shade you are after. Asides from being re-branded, these pencils have been reformulated so they now have a much creamier texture and glide over the skin beautifully. The colour pay off is fabulous, with each shade being super pigmented. They are really easy to blend and have a long lasting finish.
I bought Vow, an eye crayon (see images above), which is a fresh creamy colour, and can be used to to knock out any redness in your waterline and make your eyes appear more awake. I also bought 3 lip crayons. Woo, a soft nude, and one that matches my natural lip colour perfectly. Indecent, aptly named, this candy pink will be thrown into my kit, I could never personally wear this shade. It screams BARBIE. However, it is a very pretty shade and one I needed for my professional kit. Finally, Severity, a beautiful red grape colour, perfect for Autumn, I did buy this for my kit, but I can’t seem to part with it.
I love this colour so much. Atomic lipstick, is just a gorgeous shade of pink, an edgy fuchsia violet. This shade makes my eyes pop and really brings the life back into my skin. I can tell I will be wearing this a lot through Autumn/Winter. I know I will wear a lot of red and currant shades, so to throw this striking lipstick into the mix will be great to change up my look. Illamasqua lipsticks lean to more of a matte finish, but this one doesn’t feel drying, so as long as I look after my lips during the colder months, I think I will be just fine wearing this.
As for this Blush Up brush, I haven’t actually yet tried it out, but after my fellow make-up artist friend Lauren, from The Skin Sanctuary, tweeted me to say YOU NEED TO BUY THIS, well I had no choice in the matter really. So I popped this little fellow into my basket too. It has been designed to challenge the conventional blusher application, the ellipse shaped head tucks neatly under your cheekbones. This enables you to elongate and slim the face in one simple movement. I have quite the collection now of Illamasqua brushes, so I am going to dedicate a post to them and film a video on how to use each one – including this bad boy.
Till next time guys….
