Crownbrush 120 Eyeshadow Palette Top Layer

Karla Powell, ever so kindly, sent me the NEW 120 Eyeshadow Palette* from Crownbrush to review. I already own a couple of their eyeshadow palettes so was really excited to play with this one. I LOVE bright, bold colours so this had my name written all over it. I headed down to the beach, found some funky looking driftwood and took plenty of snaps.
As the photographs demonstrate, this palette is made up of two sections, both cleverly packaged in a matte black casing. With it being so compact it is perfect for storing and travelling, it slots into my professional kit very easily.

Each “layer” or tray contains 60 shadows. There is a selection of matte and shimmer colours, as well as 6 vibrant merged colours. In my opinion, this is a fabulous selection for professional make-up artists, for in salon use and for those of you crazy about eyeshadow at home. Super pigmented and long lasting I was not disappointed with this palette.

Usually in a palette of this size, you find that more than a few colours when swatched are exactly the same. This is not the case with this one, each one is totally different, not just comparing the tones, but as some are matte and some are shimmer, the textures of them vary. I have swatched all of the shades which you can see below:

I had so much fun swatching these colours, and now I feel ready for a creative shoot! It has been a wee while since I have had chance to do anything super experimental and I believe this palette was just what I needed to inspire me. I am planning on doing a small number of posts showing you ways on how to use this palette! First up will be a Golden Smokey Eye. A simple, but timeless classic that suits everyone. So keep your eyes peeled for this.

Oh I will point out too, 2-3 of the eyeshadows did crack in this palette. This has never happened to me before with any of the palettes from Crownbrush… so I have to be honest and admit: I was climbing over the sand dunes to get down to the beach, and I had an epic fall. Me and my rucksack, tumbled down this hill and the palette went flying. So considering, it hit the ground with a mighty force, as did my bottom, I think it is safe to say the casing is really sturdy and in normal circumstances I couldn’t imagine the eyeshadows normally breaking.

This palette is available to buy here and is a reet good ole bargain at just £29.99.

See you soon,
