Already a fan of Rodial Super Acid X Treme cleanser, something that I use on the regular, I expected great things from the Rodial Bee Venom Cleansing Balm. Packaged in typical Rodial fashion, in an eye catching yellow and silver ensemble. I love the pump, as I find cleansing balms in tubs can get quite messy. On contact with water this balm turns to milk, and feels beautiful on the skin. To me the two ingredients that stand out, aside from key ingredient bee venom for the plumping, are salicylic acid and vitamin c – anti aging and gently exfoliating. Salicylic acid is fabulous for tackling blemishes too. I tend to use this of an evening as my second cleanse after I have removed my make-up with a micellar water. If you have drier skin and want to consider a new anti aging cleanser then I would recommend this for sure.
The Bee Venom Day Cream surprised me. I am really rather fussy when it comes to moisturisers and I was not expected to love this one was much as I did. I have become quite conscious of the fact I am getting older and need to include an spf into my skincare routine – as a permanent fixture, not just when I remember. On application, this moisturiser feels thicker than expected and has a “sunblocky” white feel to it – possibly down to the high spf 30. Nevertheless, it sinks straight into my skin and does not make me oily throughout the day, it also doubles up as a fantastic base to your foundation.
Last but not least is the Bee Venom Night Gel, not in your standard jar, but in one of those “press it down” pump things – can someone help me out and tell me what the proper name is for this? I really distain heavy night creams, I like my skin to be able to breathe at night. This is incredibly lightweight, to the point where I do question whether it is enough for my skin, nevertheless it does the job and my skin feels lovely and hydrated.
Considering I am such a natural skincare lover, I cannot help but still love my Rodial products – they really do what they say on the tin.
Have you tried this brand before? What are your thoughts?

  • The whole Bee Venom bit actually scares me, it sounds a bit aggressive you know? BUT I do love the sound of the products, particularly the night gel. I’m all about lightweight feeling moisturisers!

I’ve never tried anything from Rodial. I’m tempted by a few products, including their tinted moisturisers.
