When it comes to styling tools I rarely stray away from my
trusty curling wand, so when I was contacted by TONI & GUY to review
something from there Salon Professional Range, I decided to be brave and chose
the Professional Extreme Rollers. I knew these would not only be
great for myself but also an added bonus to my professional hair & make-up
kit. My clients are forever asking for bigger, volumised hair. In case you were wondering what else is available in the range there is a
Compact Dryer, a Flawless Finish Straightener and a Wide Plate Straightener.
You can check them out here.

These products are all used backstage at London Fashion
Shows
due to the high performance and quality of the range. I had the pleasure
of working at London Fashion Week this season, backstage at the Matthew
Williamson
show yesterday, as part of the make-up team alongside Head Artist
Lisa Potter Dixon
and the Benefit Trend Team. I got to see the TONI & GUY
hair team in action creating high volume and undone, tousled curls, inspired by
icons such as Brigitte Bardot and Kate Moss

I will be writing a full report on my experience backstage with Benefit Cosmetics, so I won’t disclose much more on this for now. Let’s get stuck in to how I got on with the Extreme Rollers shall we?
Ok, so rollers are not my forte, it took a while for me to get used to getting them to stay in my hair and positioned right. I remembered eventually there is a video provided by TONI & GUY which gives you more information and is really helpful. After watching the tutorial,  the entire process was so much easier. I sectioned my hair off, as recommended, and gently rolled each piece of hair starting from the tip rolling towards the root, before securing the roller in place with the butterfly grip provided.

In this set there are 6 medium rollers and 4 large rollers. I also had 4 extra large rollers to hand which I placed along the top of my hair along my central parting. This creates even more volume. The rollers are stored in a sleek heating unit, and they take less than 2 minutes to heat up. They don’t just get warm, they get really hot, which is great as you know your style will hold. This set works with an innovative duo heat performance, so the roller is heated from the inside, and then the clips themselves have metal linings so the hair is also heated from the outside too. Don’t worry, your hair is protected, as the barrels are soft flocked and are designed specifically to protect your hair colour.
I was so impressed with just how quickly this set heated up and how effective they were in my hair. It usually takes me a good ten minutes for my curling wand to heat up and a further thirty minutes to style it. Not to forget just how many times I burn myself with them! These rollers were hot and in my hair in under five minutes, and I only left them in for a short period of time too, so the finished look was complete in no time at all.

I was left with big, voluminous wavy hair and a huge smile on my face as you can see from the below photographs. What do you guys think? Do you like this style?

Who swears by heated rollers? I certainly do now. Pick up your own set from Boots. I have filmed my Hair Care Routine, which you can watch over on my YouTube Channel! Click here to watch it now.
Send me your hair tutorial requests! P.S The difference a cloud makes to a photograph is hilarious…
