YOSO Pro Ionic Skincare Review & Giveaway

Always one to try new out new technology, especially when it relates to skincare, I was really keen to try the YOSO Pro. Having dabbled with cleansing tools before, usually ones that look like giant toothbrushes for the skin, I was intrigued by the design of this new gadget, one worth £150. No sign of a brush head, but instead a flat, smooth titanium surface. Don’t worry, if you are confused, so was I.

Let’s get the science out of the way first. The YOSO Pro uses advanced salon Ion technology, and enables you to take care of your skin on a deeper level in 3 different ways: Cleanse, Moisturise and Boost. The last time I talked about positively or negatively charged particles was definitely back in high school, in a chemistry class – where most of the time I would sit and copy my friend’s notes because it would just go straight over my head. This gadget harnesses the power of these charged particles, ensuring your skin is cleaner and fresher than before. Honestly, not a clue how this exactly works, but just take it from me it does.

Where it gets interesting is, unlike a usual cleansing tool which you switch on and it starts vibrating straight away, this device only pulsates on connection with your skin. The soft vibrations feel a little strange at first, and the urge to move it in a circular motion is something you get used to not doing. You simply place the device on your skin, let it vibrate, then move it on another area of the skin.

So for cleansing, I would remove my make-up with a micellar water, and then use this device as part of my second cleanse. I have been testing it out with the Caudalie Gentle Cleansing Milk, which is so lovely, and I have really enjoyed playing with my new toy. You attach a circular cotton pad to the device and then use your favourite water based cleanser as usual. The sensation is slightly weird, and it is difficult to get your head around the idea your skin is being deeply cleansed when it does not feel like it is doing anything. Only afterward, do you appreciate what it is actually doing, when you see how much dirt is pulled out of your skin. It requires a touch more time then my usual cleansing routine, but this is more like giving yourself a facial at home, and is something you could do sat in front of the tv.

The Moisture feature is fab and is something I have been doing every other day. Pop a layer of moisturiser directly onto the metal head and then allow it to penetrate your skin. If you have trouble with moisturiser absorbing then this really will help that. I had fun using it with a face mask as part of the Boost feature – again an odd sensation but really did improve the benefits of the mask – you apply a face mask as usual but then use the device over the top.

Suitable for all skin types, as it is not harsh or abrasive in any way this is a really fab product that every one could easily introduce into their skincare routines.
