M.A.C Cosmetics Xmas Treats

Hello Guys! I do hope you are all enjoying the weekend! Can you believe it is Sunday already? Today I finally took down our Christmas decorations, the house seems pretty bare without them now. How have you been spending your Sunday?
I thought I would share with you my M.A.C Cosmetics make-up that I got for Christmas and some little bits I bought to add to my kit today. Writing this I am getting the urge to go back to the store and buy more, I am slightly addicted. Enjoy!

From right to left in the palette

First up is this absolutely gorgeous palette, it is from one of M.A.C Cosmetics Holiday collections and I was so happy my mum bought it me for Christmas. I just love the colours, you can play around with them to achieve a simple, glam daytime look with the lighter shades, then transform your look with the darker plum shade for evening wear. I am not one to use a palette much, I will try it once and then it usually ends up in my professional kit, however I love this one so much it has a permanent home in my personal make-up bag. The packaging is just so girly and chic, it really is the nicest packaging I have seen for a while. As usual I have no complaints with the staying power of the eyeshadows, M.A.C eyeshadows are just the best. They never let you down.
I used this palette to create my New Years Eve Party Look, but you could use this look for any night out! Click HERE to read a step by step guide.

I wish I had enough money to buy all of the M.A.C Cosmetics pigments. They are just so versatile, I adore them, a fantastic product. So when I received this cute little box containing 4 metallic pigments in such lovely colours I was very happy. You can use pigments to brighten up a smokey eye, or layer them up to make a really daring eye look, dust them lightly as a highlighter over cheekbones, or pat them into your lipstick to give them more texture. The little pots are fab to just stack up in my kit. The packaging is just too nice to throw away, I will probably use this to store little trinkets in rather than holding the pigments in – I will just put them into my “Pigments” bag in my pro kit.

Now, if you are a make-up artist and reading this you will probably give me a slapped wrist, when you discover that this is the first time I bought the infamous Ruby Woo lipstick and Redd lip liner. I had heard everyone rave about this being the PERFECT matte red, but never really bothered going to get it. I have so many red lipsticks in my kit that it just never really seemed too important. It was only when I heard a story about a photographer I love, look down her nose at a make up artist because Ruby Woo was not in her kit. I was mortified by this, but at the same time suddenly felt this need to have it. So I bought it, and now I cannot be without it. I will be buying another for my kit, as this bullet is staying in my personal make-up bag. It was love at first wear. The colour just brightens up my entire face and really makes my eyes pop, yes a lipstick can do this. The only trouble I personally have is the fact it is matte, and my lips are sooooo dry all year round. I can live with that.
If you are after the perfect red, then yes Ruby Woo is really worth all the hype. See photo below of me wearing it.

Here I am wearing Fling all over and Lingering just in the arch for more definition

If you follow my blog regularly, you will know that eyebrows are the bane of my life. A while a go I went into M.A.C to repurchase my usual Dirty Blonde eyebrow pencil, to find that the pencils had been discontinued!! Before I could quite get my head around it, the lady explained that they had eyebrow pencils but in the form of a propeling pencil. I asked what shade would be right for me and she said Fling…
Well, it was not just a Fling between me and this eyebrow pencil. I fell in love and we have an awesome relationship.
Since purchasing one for my own make-up bag, I then discovered through the wonder of YouTube that the fabulous make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury swears by these eyebrow pencils, her staple go to shades when filling in brows are Fling and Lingering. So I had to go back and buy more didn’t I. I actually bought two of each shade, you know, just in case.
There you have it, my M.A.C Cosmetics Haul. What are your M.A.C must haves?
See you soon,
