I have not been into a Kiko Cosmetics store for quite some time now and for good reason. All of the products that I have tried so far have been ridiculously amazing and they are so reasonably priced. If I go into the store, I know I will end up spending a fortune unnecessarily just to take advantage of the cheap prices.
So when the brand new Generation Next collection* landed on my desk I was very excited to get stuck in. Let’s discuss the packaging. Inspired by Italian glassware “Murano” it screams futuristic. Silver, glossy, chunky packaging combined with geometric, colourful shapes.
I LOVE the Masterpiece Compact Bronzer, and it has such a beautiful embossed design. Even though this is a powder, it has such a soft, creamy texture. The three colours can be used on their own, or swirl a big powder brush around the compact to get more of three dimensional, sculpted complexion.
I started to play around with the two Crystal Eyeliners for the make-up look below. I used the golden brown shade, Technological Brown, as a base all over. If you choose to use this as a base like I did, please bare in mind that you have to quickly blend as this stuff really does not budge and it can be quite a work out to get it nice and soft. I blended a soft neutral colour into the crease to soften the liner, and took this shade underneath the eyes too. Right along the waterline, I used the Hefty Sapphire Crystal liner. I love this pencil so much. It is the perfect shade of blue to make my eyes pop and sparkle. It stays put all day long. I finish the look off with the Cool Touch Eyeshadow in Sought Platinum, which is super sparkly and looks great in the centre of the eyes or in the inner corner. These eyeshadows have a real silky texture and apply with great ease. I definitely want to pick up the other shades available.
I have also found a new favourite lip colour from this collection. The Frosted Lipstick in Herald Rose is an absolute gem and does not feel drying on my lips whatsoever. The formula is enriched with Papaya and Orchid Flowers which sooth the lips too. Smudge free, soft and creamy, you really cannot go wrong with one of these. I want to pick up the Innovatory Red next.
Last but not least, is the Glassy Lipgloss. I don’t often wear lipgloss, so decided to not wear it for the finished look, but having worn this before, I can say the formula is lovely. It leaves a wet look finish and is not too sticky. Being water based it is also easy to remove. I have the shade Sensory Fuschia, which is a little too pink for me, but for those who like pink, this is a really pretty shade.

Overall, I am really impressed with this collection, which does not surprise me, I knew from the instance I saw the make-up I would like it all. I am so ready for Spring now after creating this look. You could perhaps wear this for Valentine’s Day too, which I keep forgetting is just around the corner.
What are your favourite products from Kiko Cosmetics? Have you tried the new collection yet?
