Oops. So I was supposed to write this post like straight up after IMATS London Day One, but in true Newlove style, that kinda never happened. Here we are, better late than never: Day Two Neon Skeleton.
So casually over a plate full of Grill Shack Pancakes & Nutella, I suggested to Anna we do something that was colourful and erm well involved painting the whole body. Yeah, that was all I said and from this Anna was like: LET’S ROCK OUT WITH A FULL BODY NEON SKELETON YEAH?
Anna is the queen of skull work, so I knew that this idea would be sick, the good kind. I never blow my own trumpet, ever, but man we did good. So happy with how this turned out. Usually when painting I am incredibly stressed and irritable, the inner perfectionist in me becomes very impatient. However, this all changed, Anna taught me an entirely different way of painting, and how to look at things in steps rather than analyzing detail all at once. As a result, I had the best time and not just because I got to paint Sean’s ass. Yes he had to wear a nude thong, and ever the pro, he did not care. Love working with this guy. Check out Sean’s website here.
It took us about 4-5 hours to do the entire thing, using a mix of Global Colour Paints and Kryolan. All of the brushes I used were of course from Crownbrush UK. Once finished, we strutted around the room before using UV lights to capture some amazing shots – I took like 200 photos and really had to narrow them down, I hope you don’t mind a photo heavy post.

The lead up to IMATS always a stressful time, and I always wish for it to be over so I can quit panicking, but as soon as it is over, I miss it immediately. I really need to learn to enjoy the moment at times like these and not put so much pressure on myself. Anna definitely helped this year and I am very  much looking forward to further projects with her. If you have any idea for us then please let me know in the comments!
