Clinique Haul.

Hello!!
I would never have thought the first brand I’d be blogging about in the new year would be Clinique
Not that I am not a fan, I just rarely buy products from this brand other than mascara.
However, I have a little back log of hauls from 2012 that I still need to share with you, and decided to start with the Unexpected Airport Haul
I was flying back to Liverpool to spend a few days with my family, knowing I could not see them over Christmas, but before I boarded I spent some time mooching about the duty free section.
I needed a Clinique Men’s Gift Set, it was on my Xmas Last minute List. So,that explains how ended up at the Clinique counter, and to explain these extra gifts – to myself of course – is down to the lovely sales lady who was very, very good at her job.
A glass of free champagne later, the Clinique lady obviously saw me coming, I took these products to the till. I will just point out that the only product I bought (along with the men’s gift set) was the foundation, the make-up bag was a freebie and inside I got a face wash, a moisturiser, a lipstick and a mascara. Happy days.

Here is what I think of my new products. Enjoy 🙂
I actually cannot stand Clinique skincare, there I said it out loud. I had a very bad experience, and my SpaceNK inner snob screamed bad things about this range. However, that being said, I had left my usual face wash at home, and arriving at my mums discovered facewipes or soap were the only option. I had to use it, nothing is as bad as a face wipe!!
I was surprised by this face wash. A little goes a long way, and it did not overly dry out my skin as expected. It left it feeling squeaky clean and removed my make-up well. I still have loads left, and it is now going to be my travel face wash – emergencies only. I don’t think I would repurchase this, not because it is a bad product – I actually hate to admit I liked it. It is suitable for all skin types, but mine being oily and prone to break outs, I need something a little more va va voom from my face wash.
If you just want an every day, simple face wash then this one would be great for you. It retails at £16 for 150ml.

Possibly the longest name ever for a moisturiser. Again, I was feeling pretty hesitant to use this as I am really against Clinique skincare – SpaceNK brainwashing is powerful stuff. Yet again, I was pleasantly surprised. This moisturiser actually feels like water. It is more of a gel than a cream, and it just sinks straight into your skin. I am even more surprised to say I would actually now purchase this. It is suitable for all skin types, and even is fine for my oily/spot prone skin. It does not make me more oily which is my first concern when trying out a new moisturiser. What I also like about this, is that it is designed to pump your skin with hydration throughout the day, so I don’t have to worry about getting dry and flaky – not that that happens often.
I am not a Clinique skincare convert, oh gosh no. Nevertheless, this particular product did impress me and I have nearly used it all up. Well done Clinique, you won me over with this one.

£32 for 50ml

Now, I may not have got off to a good start with Clinique skincare when our paths first crossed, but their make-up on the other hand is a totally different story. I LOVE Clinique make-up. I have always used their foundations and mascaras, and dabbled with a few concealers and blushers too.
I needed a new foundation as my winter foundation was running low. I looked at the boxes containing my usual Clinique suspect, the Superbalanced foundation, but because I was in Palma airport they only stocked the darker shades. I am the lightest shade Fresh Alabaster, oh woe me.
Like I mentioned, the sales lady was very good at her job, and somehow convinced me into trying this Anti Blemish foundation in shade 2 which is Fresh Ivory.
I had heard good things about this foundation, I know Megan from Wonderful You sometimes uses this product,  as she has good taste in everything… I figured what the heck, why not? Living in Mallorca the sun will start to come back out in March, fake tan can get me through the months leading up to that so no gravy line. Yes, this is what I told myself when buying a foundation a shade too dark for me. Into the basket it went.

A layer of Dove Summer Glow Gradual tan later, I applied this “skin-clearing” foundation (it has added benefits to help spot prone skin). It matched perfectly, blended so easily and the coverage was spot on. It covered all my red blemishes, so much so, I did not need to use my sacred concealer. It is a really lightweight foundation so the coverage surprised me, it also looked natural. Full coverage foundations sometimes leave me feeling like I am wearing a mask, but this one felt lovely. I will definitely purchase this again.

So after searching on the internet for quite some time, I actually cannot find this colour anywhere!  The High Impact Lip colour lipsticks exist, but as for this colour? Very odd. It may be a limited edition lipstick, the shade is Orange Starburst. If anyone knows where I can get this colour from can you please let me know? I love this shade, in fact I love everything about this lipstick. It is really moisturising, it has sun protection, and the colour is fab. I have not stopped wearing it. Well, I will limit my wear now I can see I cannot find it anywhere.

For a long time this has been my favourite mascara. It simply ticks all the boxes for me. It thickens my lashes, without the clumpiness. It stays put without looking like a panda later on in the day. It isn’t a bitch to wash off either. This mascara leaves my lashes plump and well defined, and it leaves me very happy. I was over the moon to find this miniature version in my bag of freebies.

I hope you enjoyed this post guys (in the picture above I am wearing all of ze reviewed items).
See you soon,
