Blemish Banishing Skincare
Oh pesky blemishes, what is your purpose in life other than to really annoy me? I would really appreciate it if you never showed up on my face, uninvited might I add, ever again. Cheers.
If it was only as simple as a little conversation, human mind to spot.
Alas, thank goodness for skincare. I have a few go to products that really help to maintain my skin and help me through those times of need when my hormonal break outs go into over drive. Currently, I have THE most painful cyst like spots on my face. One is living on my chin, and his name is Brian. Then oddly, I have two living either side of my nose, just by the beginning of my brows. These are Ethel and Edward. They are huge under the skin, painful, red lumps and my GOD I just want them to emigrate somewhere else and soon.
So enough about my new residents, onto the skincare that I reach to during these troubled times.
I have been taking off my make-up as soon as I get in from work, as I just cannot wait for my skin to breathe. To do this I have been using the Avene Cleanance Eau Micellar Water, the one for Oily / Blemish Prone Skin. I find this to be a really gentle formula and helps with my breakouts.
Not too long ago I went to an event hosted by Institut Esthederm, and I was told the Vitamin E range would be great for helping with my hormonal break outs (as well as tackling any fine lines). I am totally obsessed with the Revitalising Eau Cellulaire Spray, which I use straight after cleansing my face, and I am now on my second bottle. I really do believe this benefits problematic skin as it focuses on energising and replenishing the skin. I’ll then follow with the Intensive Vitamin E serum and cream. Vitamin E is great for calming the skin, due to it’s amazing anti-inflammatory properties.
Another obsession, more like addiction, is to that of acid toners. I cannot be without my Pixi Glow Tonic or Cane and Austin Retexturising Acne Pads. I SWEAR BY CANE AND AUSTIN FOR ACNE / SPOTS. The end.
Last but not least, a vital step to any skincare routine, and one often missed: The Face Mask. I try to at least use a face mask once a week! I absolutely adore GLAM GLOW Supermud Clearing Treatment Mask, and I go through this like water. I am forever slapping this stuff on as it just works so well. I also love Caudalie, I love so many products from this brand but especially their Purifying Mask. Unlike a clay that hardens, this stays soft and feels incredibly soothing on the skin, which is ideal if your skin is feeling sore from any break outs.
Skincare aside, drinking plenty of water and eating lots of fruit and veggies is also going to be great for your skin. What spot fighting secrets do you have up your sleeve?

I definitely needed this post! I have blemish-prone skin but I think it’s finally getting there now after being on a course of antibiotics and medicated cream. I love the sounds of the Avene Micellar Water for removing makeup xx

I need to drink more water, I hardly drink enough so I’m not helping myself! I noticed after I cut out fizzy drink from my diet, my face started to clear up 🙂 I usually tend to reach for tea tree products when my face gets unwelcome visitors 🙂 Em xx

I’ve just survived a invasion of hormonal spots, and well, other that piling on all the masks (love the Glamglow one too!) and spot treatments (Vichy and Clinique do my favourite ones) I just wait for them to go away – damn that time of the month! xx

My favourite blemish fighting skincare products would have to be Effaclar Duo +, Lush’s Tea tree toner water and RENs Clearcalm clarifying clay cleanser x
