Using a cleansing balm has become a staple part of my evening skincare routine. Coming home from work, wrestling out of my clothes to pull on a fresh pair of pajamas is shortly followed by the ritual of removing my make-up. I have reached a point in my life where I get excited about purchasing new soft flannels, something I actually am quite proud of. Is this worrying? I probably should get out more.
My love affair with Antipodes began earlier this year, when I attended a glorious Afternoon Tea with fellow bloggers Megan from Wonderful You and Rose from Mixed Gems.
I was firstly introduced to a selection of moisturisers and serums from the brand, all of which have pride of place in my bathroom cabinet (it’s actually more of a basket, but that doesn’t sound as good as cabinet), but I was rather curious about trying out a cleanser. Cleansing in my opinion, is the most important part of any skincare routine, and so I added the Antipodes Grapeseed Butter Cleanser to my collection. Doesn’t it look beautiful?

No surprise, I found it quite a struggle, plucking up the courage to actually use this product. It looked too perfect, and sometimes I just like to stare at my new beauty finds, do you ever feel this way? The packaging is gorgeous, the glass container feels very expensive, and the nature inspired design on the lid ties everything together.
This luscious cleansing butter, is made from Vinanza Grape and Cacao butter, organic of course, it’s fragrance is utterly divine. The Vinanza Grape, is jam packed with antioxidants which help repair free radical damage. Hibiscus flowers adds a gentle exfoliating action. Other ingredients such as Lavender and Blue Chamomile help to sooth sensitive skin.
The texture of this butter, is as expected balmy, and very lightweight, as I gently massaged this into my skin any remaining make-up dissolved instantly and my skin felt softer and smoother. Cleansing with this butter was a rather therapeutic experience, as the fragrance is simply so relaxing. If you are wanting to have an indulgent pamper night, I would highly recommend you try this.
I used a flannel and warm water to remove the cleanser, and as my skin dried it felt deeply cleaned, but did not leave that awful “tight” skin feeling. I would say this cleanser is suitable for all skin types, but more so a drier skin as it is so nourishing and hydrating. I personally have dehydrated skin, of which is prone to the occasional breakout. Since using this over the last week my blemishes have definitely cleared up and any redness I had has nearly, if not completely gone.
Antipodes quickly became one of my favourite brands and I have a feeling it will be a key part of my skincare routine for years to come. You can buy this from Feel Unique for £24.99, which I think is quite reasonable considering it is made entirely from organic ingredients and a little goes along way.
Let me know if you try anything from the range!
