I Moved To Ibiza + Vlog!

I cannot believe an entire month has gone by since I made the move to Ibiza. 30 whole days I have been on this island now. Time has flown so fast, meaning it has only just dawned on me that I still haven’t written a post on how I came to move here. I actually haven’t blogged that much at all, but it has taken me a little while to settle here, and I haven’t quite yet gotten into a routine, nevermind the fact I am still living out of a suitcase.

P.S I also finally finished my moving to ibiza vlog, with the help of my little sister – she is an editing queen.

I thought now would be a good time to share the video and reflect a little on how life out here has been so far.

Warning: Photo Heavy Post!!

So moving to Ibiza is not a permanent move, I have not left the UK for good. I am only staying out here until October, and then I will return back home to good old England. My new job as the Digital Manager for Ocean Beach Ibiza means I need to be based in Ibiza for the season and then I can return to the UK for the rest of the year.

Taking the job was a big decision for me having already lived abroad previously, I was not sure I wanted to do it again having been so settled in Reigate. I strongly believe you have to take every opportunity that comes your way with open arms, and so I accepted the job and I am loving being out here.

I flew out with my boyfriend, Scott, who you will get to meet in my vlog, and without him I would have been pretty lost out here by myself. Simple things like hiring a car and learning to drive on the other side of the road really scared me, and getting my paperwork sorted so that I could actually work out here – somehow in this process, I accidentally got myself permanent residency, but that is for another blog post. He has been a huge support to me, and I would have seriously given in to my home sickness had he not been here to hold my hand a long the way.

We decided to stay at the beautiful Sa Talaia Hotel resort for our first 3 or 4 days here, just to get ourselves settled and to enjoy some time out – we definitely needed to relax after the stress of finding somewhere to live.

I will be doing a full review on my stay at the Sa Talaia, but as you will see from my video, the hotel and the grounds on which it sits, is stunning. The staff went above and beyond their means to help, and made us feel so very welcome. I could not recommend this hotel enough. The little villa suite we stayed in was gorgeous and the pool area was so tranquil and quiet, you felt like you had the entire place to yourself. The perfect place if you want to escape a busy lifestyle and really unwind.

I haven’t had chance to explore properly yet, but my favourite beach so far has to be Cala Bassa. The photos say it all. It is so, so lovely, even if the sea is a little too cold for me  yet to go swimming in.

Ibiza town has to be one of the best places to explore if you love shopping, good food and interesting buildings. I love all the multi coloured town houses with cute little balconies. There is a Zara Home, M.A.C, Kiko, Rituals and loads of other great stores, plus the pharmacies here have the most amazing selection of La Roche Posay, Bio Derma and Vichy products. I do miss Lush though, cannot beat a good Lush store.

All I have been eating is tapas, pizza, chips, more pizza, gnocci and more tapas. So much for having a rockin’ Summer body. I also cannot stop eating Milka chocolate and drinking chocolate milkshake, which is something I would never have done back at home. My Nutribullet has now arrived however, so hopefully my healthy eating streak will return sooner rather than later.

I know I have been more than quiet on this little blog of mine, but now I have settled in a bit more, I can focus on getting back into a more productive routine. I hope you enjoy watching my vlog and as I always say, bare with me as more videos will come in time.

You are so right! You have to take every opportunity you get even if it is a little scary! To move abroad is my dream (New York) so I can’t wait to see more posts written by you. I’d love to see any posts that talk about how actually difficult it was during the planning process etc. I hope you’re having the best time ever!
