I try to lead a happy,
positive life as best I can and always strive to make the best of every situation. Therefore it was
simple for me when I was asked if I would like to take part in the Neom
Happiness Programme
. Of course I said yes. 
So today I ask: Where Does One Find True Happiness?
Happiness is all around us. Some days it might be easy to see it, right there in front of your face. Other times, it can be really difficult, seemingly impossible and totally out of reach. Yet, if we quiet our minds, I am certain you can be happy in every single moment, we just have to try.

The most important thing to remember here, happiness is a state of being. You have a choice. You can make the choice daily to be happy.

Some of you might be thinking that that choice was taken away from you, that you have no choice but to be sad. I disagree. The reason I can say this is because I have been to rock bottom, believe me. I had PTSD (and sometimes still struggle with it). Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I witnessed something that no girl should ever see in her life. This blog does not need to be a place to go over that, maybe I will talk about it some day with you guys, who knows. My point, I over came what was the worst thing to ever happen to me, and I learnt that no matter what happens to you in your life, no one can steal your happiness. Nothing or no one. You hear me? Your sadness will heal, and you do deserve to smile. 


TO BE HEALTHY IS TO BE HAPPY. TO BE HAPPY IS TO BE HEALTHY.

If you are feeding your body wonderful, nutritious food (and the odd slice of cake) then you are of course going to be healthier, and therefore feel happier. Health should always come first in the steps to true happiness. We get one body and that should be our priority in life, to always look after ourselves to the best of our abilities. I love that in my Neom Happiness Guide there are awesome recipes for healthy smoothie bowls and how it encourages you to cook with others and learn something new! All of these things add up to feeling happy. I cannot wait to try the Spiced Parsnip and Cauliflower Soup. 


MINDFULNESS

For me happiness can be found anywhere and everywhere, you just need to open your eyes and try and quiet your mind. I wrote a post on Mindfulness not too long ago, and this is something I still try and practice daily. Just slowing down just for a few minutes, to appreciate what is going on around you is an amazing way of becoming at one with yourself, and discovering that sometimes all you need to be happy – is your own company. This was one of the biggest hurdles I had to overcome, realising that being by myself is absolutely a-okay! Just look at those trees, listen to the birds or appreciate those around you for just a split second. It will warm your insides I tell thee. 

MAKE TIME FOR YOU.

Sometimes we get so caught up in our busy work schedules, our social schedules and if you are like me, I always prioritise putting other people first over myself. I have been reminding myself that it is so important to take some time out for me and do things simply just for myself, to ensure I am truly happy. Little things like buying these beautiful tulips to brighten up my room, when I wake up I see that splash of colour and instantly smile. FIND YOUR HAPPY.

There are so many other ways to feel happy. Make a new music play list filled with all your favourite upbeat tunes. Buy a new book and actually make time to read it. Get up that extra ten minutes before your alarm goes off and stretch your body out before you shower. It feels so good. Can’t get down to the gym to let off some steam? Try out some new yoga moves. All you need is some space in your bedroom or living room, and fifteen minutes. Once a week run yourself a relaxing bath and treat your skin to a gorgeous body scrub.
