Dare to Bare #BeforeandAfter

Hello… Hello… Helloooo.
How are you today?
I thought I would embrace my naked facesorry guys – by posting a “Before and After” make-up look! Inspiration for this post comes from Samantha from Batalash Beauty. Earlier this week I came across her very own before and after make-up picture (see below), and I was overwhelmed by how different she looked without make-up on. She of course, looks beautiful before, as well as after, but it goes to show how effective make-up can be when transforming your face.
For me, I am confident with or without make-up. It doesn’t bother me going outside with a bare face, even though I resemble something similar to that of a 10 year old albino. So why do I bother wearing layers of the stuff? I wear make-up because a) Good eyebrows are important &  2) What kind of make-up artist would I be without any on? I wear make-up for ME, not for anyone else.
Honestly, it did used to make me feel uncomfortable, the thought of  others seeing me with no make-up on, but as I have grown older I have become less bothered about what others think of me. I am happy in my own skin. I used to be terrified of what guys would think of me waking up next to them without those false lashes. I used to think strangers on a train would rip me to shreds for insulting them with my bare presence.
I know I have no visible eyebrows, or lashes. I know I have bags underneath my eyes. I know my lips have uneven pigmentation, and I have redness around my nose. I am very much aware that my skin breaks out and my chin has a blanket of blemishes. This is all okay, because I am 110% sure that a million other girls out there have similar flaws, it makes me normal.
Make-up does not MAKE you beautiful, it just enhances your natural beauty. Make-up encourages the beauty on the inside to bloom, that confidence you grow with each swish of your mascara wand – it’s always been there, it just needed a helping hand.
This is why I LOVE make-up. It empowers women and men. Whether wearing make-up is your daily routine, a uniform, a safety blanket or an experiment, it does not matter, as long as you are happy.
To those who slate us for making the choice to wear make-up, or to bare it, the ones that hammer you with insults and try to knock your confidence. Rise above it, as letting it effect you is simply allowing them to win.  Any negativity is just a reflection of that person’s true self.

To create this look I used Illamasqua Hydra Veil Primer all over the skin, followed by applying contour and highlight using Arbonne Liquid Foundations. I used a Crownbrush UK Flawless Face Blender with MAC Fix + to create the base which I then set with Trish McEvoy Translucent Pressed Powder.
To further define my cheek bones I applied Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate and Arbonne Blush. On my brows I have Illamasqua Eye Brow Cake in Thunder, and on my eyes I am wearing colours from the Naked Basics Palette, as well as Lash Boutique lashes lined with M.A.C Black Track gel liner
On my lips I have M.A.C Redd Lip liner and Illamasqua Soaked Satin lipstick.
What do you guys think to the new do? I went brunette last weekend, I was bored and needed a change. I am still getting used to it…. eek
