Let’s talk… Make-up books.

Make-up books by Rae Morris and Scott Barnes

 Hello lovelies!
Today’s post features two of my favourite beauty books! Reading is something I absolutely love doing, and I hope one day I will have a great big library, just like the one in Beauty and the Beast. Total geek, but I don’t care.
I have a few make-up related books, but these two Face to Face by Scott Barnes and Makeup The Ultimate Guide by Rae Morris have really helped me in particular, plus they were an absolute joy to read. I thought I would tell you a little bit about each of them and why I would recommend them for make-up lovers and make-up artists in training.

First of all, the front cover is totally captivating, isn’t is just stunning? As you turn the pages, you discover the entire book is filled with beautiful photography and really simple tutorials. The “step by step” guides are really easy to follow and there are lots of great tips to be learnt. One of the great things about this book, is that it is jam packed with eye looks, there is something for everyone and every occasion. There is even a few pages dedicated to finding the right shades to suit your colouring. This book takes you through all the essentials you need in your kit, to techniques such as contouring. It teaches you how to accentuate your best features, and isn’t this something we all want to learn?

Face to Face by Scott Barnes
I just LOVE Scott Barnes. He is simply a genius. Make-up artist to the one and only Kim Kardashian, he personally designed her flawless, infamous make-up look. THAT contouring, the sultry, smoky eyes… this was all Scott Barnes. This book is filled with amazing celebrity transformations and stories to go with each make-over. I refer back to this when clients as me for a particular look, knowing that when I turn the pages I will be inspired.  Scott’s advice will, without a doubt, change the way you look at your face and the way you do your make-up.

What beauty books would you guys recommend? Is there one that you just couldn’t put down?
