Hip, Hip, Hoorah! My ‘Old School’ Adidas Hi-Tops arrived!
Now don’t go panicking, this is not a fashion blog – I just could not resist sharing my excitement! I love comfy shoes that I can stick on with jeans and a tee. (I’m not one for making a lotta effort with my wardrobe). Nevertheless if one does like to ponder over fashion check out:
She is fabulous daaaarhling!

Back to business…

When I was a little girl, I used to sit on the end of my Mum&Dad’s bed and watch my Mum put her make-up on. I was fascinated with her lipsticks, and the way she pulled a face putting on her mascara. At the time I thought she was a “very, silly lady.” Another childhood habit involved stealing her The Body Shop Cucumber Milk and Water skincare. I had no idea what to do with it, I just liked pretending to be a grown up. Still to this day I love the smell of Cucumber water – it’s just so refreshing. Now all grown up, I still steal my mum’s products, but I tend to think of it more as ‘sharing’ these days. We are both as bad as each other, Mum likes to “borrow” my hair products, but I never really see them again. It is down to Mum that I am now addicted to the 3 products in today’s post and here I am to tell you guys about them too…

The Body Shop Coconut Shimmer Body Lotion – Every time I coat my skin in this glistening moisturiser the smell just reminds me of being on holiday. The fresh coconut scent is to die for. The shimmer in this lotion makes your skin look luminous and radiant, as well as leaving it super soft and smooth. It soaks straight into the skin as it’s a little lighter in comparison to the butter you can get, which is fab news for me, as I can apply it quickly when in a rush and not worry about waiting ages for it to absorb into my skin.

It is that time of year where us ladies (and gents!) start thinking about ways of getting our bodies in shape for summer. Not just watching what we eat, but prepping our skin so that it looks in tip top condition when wearing incy wincy bikinis.
As well as exfoliating, body brushing, drinking lots of water… having a great moisturiser is also important. The great thing about this body lotion is the key ingredient: coconut oil.
Coconut oil is packed with antioxidants,(which fight against free radicals!), prevents dryness and flaking of the skin and delays wrinkles/sagging of the skin which unfortunately comes with age. It is also well known for its soothing and healing properties.
So there you have it, grab yourself a body lotion with coconut oil in. With the promise to protect against damage, to promote healing, to give you smooth, radiant, healthier looking skin, how could you not buy this product?
To the next item, Jimmy Choo parfum
Perfumes are my weakness. I love having lots of different perfumes. My trademark scent is without a doubt Tom Ford Black Orchid, but I still like to have one or two more to play around with.
Jimmy Choo is a fruity, floral scent. Its not to light to go unnoticed, but its not too heavy to wear in the day. The fragrance instantly lifts my mood, I have no idea how it does this, but as it is described as making women feel “strong, beautiful and alluring” then that kinda makes sense. I love this perfume and the packaging is really pretty too.
When I was at SpaceNK, I learnt that perfumes are made up of three layers. The base, the heart and the top note. The top note is what you smell first, then as it absorbs into the skin you can then smell the heart of the perfume. The base note is the heavier scent that ties in all three layers, usually a woody scent such as Sandalwood or Cedarwood.
Jimmy Choo’s notes are as follows:
Top note: Ginger – an exotic spice gives the perfume that “kick”
Heart note: Tea Rose and Tiger Orchid – here is the floral fragrance
Base note: Cedarwood – a rich, woody aroma
Next time you walk past a perfume shop, pick out your favourite fragrances and try and work out the different notes.
Finally, last but not least we have Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream.

This cream is a classic. Every make up artist loves this multi-tasking cream. This is a must-have for everyone! It is brilliant for dry, chapped skin, soothes redness and minor skin irritations. Its great for rough spots on your knees, feet and ankles, and can sooth chapped lips too. I use it to sooth sunburn, I find it takes the sting away. Need a cuticle softener? This can be used on hard cuticles too.
Now, I wouldn’t buy this myself as I think its just Vaseline on steroids or a posh Sudocrem, and it doesn’t smell that fantastic either – Sage? However, it does its job better than anything else I have ever tried. This cream is in fact technically my mum’s, but I’ve just been verrrry slow in returning it just because it is so good. So, if it accidentally finds itself in my kit then don’t go telling her!
I do try to keep my posts short and sweet guys, but it never really happens. Oops. I would love to know what products have been on your essential list this month?
See you soon,
