Mel Clarke and Team in Action

Hiiii

I thought I would keep you guys updated on what I have been up to out here by sharing some more ‘Behind the Scenes’ photos. I hope you likeeee.

Mel Clarke has the most perfect skin. She reminds me of a doll. She has a look similar to Jessie J with her jet black hair, English rose skin and her love for dramatic eye make up. Mel’s ‘signature’ is a simple flick of jet black eye liner.
I loved playing around with Mel’s make-up. We got to create 3 different looks – see above. A  natural, but still glam look first, before rocking a black smokey eye with bright pink lips. For the final look we changed the pink lip to a matte red lip.
I’d like to have the chance to go all out and do a more editorial/beauty shoot with Mel, using Jessie J as inspiration. I am eager to try out my Violent Lip transfers and Mel would be a perfect candidate – the iconic Union Jack lip tattoo worn by Jessie J is one look I would love to recreate.
I am looking forward to working with Mel again in May as she promised me I can curl her hair, I don’t think I have seen one picture of her with it curled or wavy! So watch this space!
For the eyes, I again used the Urban Decay Naked Palette. I can’t get enough of it at the moment, I was a little late on the bandwagon to use these eye shadows, but now I have the palette in my kit it’s become a staple product.
What staple products do you guys have in your make up bags/kits at the moment?
I’m off to bed now, up early for another day of shooting. Sleep tight folks.
See you soon,

  • The curling wand strikes again…. – Zoe Newlove

[…] May 20, 2012 • Uncategorized Ok. So I am not a hairdresser.  “Basic Hair Styling” would be listed in my services offered as a make-up artist.  I do however, try, really, really hard.  A hairdresser would love hair itself, I think? Whereas I love the products and tools that make me look like I know what I am doing.  The models that work with me often, will have noticed I cannot live without my TIGI Curling Wand. Seriously, this tool makes me look pretty good. If it ever broke, I think I would cry, without it I am NOTHING in the world of hair.  We have been through a lot, burns and everything, me and Mr Wand. Quite recently, and yes I did get over-excited about this, the lovely Melissa Clarke let me curl her hair. She hardly ever has her hair curled, in fact, I think she has only ever had it curled once before when it was short, but now her hair is longer she was quite happy to experiment with some beachy waves.  You may have seen me work with Mel on a previous shoot which I blogged about HERE.
